My favorite part of sewing is when this...
It is so rewarding to take scraps of fabric and turn them into something beautiful that makes your child look absolutely precious!
This pattern is from Portabellopixie designs by Sandi Henderson. Sandi's patterns are great because they each include 3-4 different styles and the directions are very explicit (which makes them great for beginners). This dress is included in the Gracie pattern book and it turned out super-adorable. (Kinda looks funny on the hanger, though, from all the gathering.) The Gracie book also includes a tiered dress with a yoke collar, a tiered skirt, and a jumper. I also have the Ruffle Pants pattern (4 different styles included) that makes the cutest "sassy" pants in the whole world. These patterns are pricey (think about $16-yikes!) but worth it, in my opinion. Next, I'd love to get the Analise book for the party dress pattern...
On a fabric note--These fabrics are part of Heather Bailey's Nicey Jane line. Gorgeous!
Sandi Henderson also makes beautiful fabrics.

love the dress!! and where in the world did you find time with a 2 month old!?! I'm impressed. I'll have to check into her patterns b/c $16 isn't too bad for all that was included. :) thanks for sharing!
where do you buy your patterns? And, what is the Gracie pattern book? Is it a book that you look through at the store, or is it something you buy? Remember I am a beginner, ha!
Love the dress Kelli! What talent! :)
Thank you ladies! Courtney-The pattern "book" I was speaking of is included in the Gracie pattern. I actually bought this pattern at Bernina Sewing Center last week-You can also find them online :o)
Oh-another thought...the patterns include sizes 6 mo. all the way to 8 yrs. Plenty of time to get your money's worth!
