A Trip to Charleston

This past weekend, we took our last pre-baby trip to Charleston. I am now 35 weeks, and will be unable to travel from here on out. (So please come visit!!) The NGU Crusaders took on the CSU Buccaneers on Saturday, and the wives were invited to spend the weekend in the hotel with the team. My parents were kind enough to offer to keep Gracie for the weekend and bring her down for the game. This gave me the chance to feel "free" for a couple days and spend some quality time with my husband :o) I was also super-excited because I haven't been back since we moved, and I couldn't wait to see my friends!

I arrived Friday afternoon, and drove straight to FDES to visit my old teacher friends. Only a couple were still hanging around (teachers practically knock each other over running out the door on Friday), but I was so happy to see them! I also got to do a little shopping in downtown Summerville and have dinner with two girlfriends. The quilt shop on Main Street is a dangerous place...enter at your own risk (and at the risk of spending WAY too much money on cute fabric!)

Saturday morning I went and tailgated with our CSU friends, and Mom and Dad brought Gracie to join us. Gracie had not seen her friend Sydney since we moved. Sydney is April's (our sitter's) daughter and is a year older than Gracie. They had a blast playing in the endzone and completely ignoring the game (except the band and cheerleaders, which Gracie LOVES).

Sharing a Cozy Coupe.

Apparently, Gracie decided there was only enough room for one...

Checking out the slide.

"Playing" croquet
Gracie could not figure out that you're supposed to hit the ball with the "mallet" end and kept trying to hit it with the actual stick. She wanted NO help, and finally gave up for rolling the balls down the slide.
Saturday night, we went and ate at Kobe (YUM) with the other coaches and families. We had a blast hanging out and watching the evening football games at the hotel. Overall, it was a wonderful weekend. We are so glad to have gotten to visit our Charleston friends, and can't wait to introduce them to Baby #2! Thank you for sharing your tailgate!
