Go Crusaders! Our First NGU Game

Two weekends ago (August 29) marked the kickoff of Crusader football! Although the game's outcome wasn't exactly to our liking, we had a great time tailgating and spending time with family and friends. Gracie had a wonderful time: not only was the majority of everyone's attention on her, but she discovered a new love...pom poms! Here are a few pictures of our fun evening at the game.

Her "aunts" and "uncles" brought her a gift bag full of goodies. The first thing she dug out were Cookie Monster and Elmo beanies.

Can you tell she's the center of attention?
BTW: The book she is holding is on division. Yes, division. Apparently they thought she needed a head start on 4th grade (?)

Trying out her new heels and Hello Kitty socks with Uncle Will.

Mommy made special bows just for the occasion! She looked so freaking cute in her NGU cheerleader uniform!

The whole gang (minus Chad, of course). Coach Staggs had the biggest cheering section of all!

We need to work on the whole "cheese" thing :o)
Dad and the guys..and Ally

Coach Staggs makes his first appearance! He's the first one walking toward us in the white shirt.

Gracie spent a good bit of her time watching the cheerleaders who were right in front of us.

She LOVED her new pom poms! She kept waving them around and saying "Go Dada!"
We have to keep working on when to cheer. She would jump up and down, clap, and say "yay!" no matter what happened or who scored.

All the girls!

A rather unflattering picture of me and Stef. Haha

Eating popcorn with Mimi

Obviously, Daddy wasn't very happy with the outcome, but his little girl was sure glad to see him!

You can always count on Will to make you smile :o)

The Staggs Family post-game.
We are so proud of Daddy!

A final picture of everyone (including Merv).
Thank you to all who came to help support Chad and the team. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family!

I still can't believe they make a NGU cheerleading outfit!!! :) But it is too darn cute! Glad y'all had a fun first game, even if the end result wasn't the one you wanted. At least he was pretty used to that USC. :) Love you guys!!

Kelli, I didn't know he was coaching at the college level now. That's great! I am a coach's wife as well (not college though...i'm sure it's a whole other world at that level!). We need to get together sometime. We are only about 35 min. from the Greenville area.
