I know I have been totally slack on updating lately, so (as Jack told you in the previous post), here is Monday's update.
After we practiced and went to the Greer Easter egg hunt, Gracie really got into it.
She loved to throw her plastic eggs all over the living room and pick them up as fast as she could.
The weather has been gorgeous around here lately, so I decided it was time to take the action outside.
(She's wearing her new dress that I made and LOVE. Check it out on my sewing blog!)
On the Saturday before Easter Sunday (Easter Eve?), we dyed eggs for the first time with just our family. Normally we do this at Grammy and Papa's house, so this was a change of pace.
Gracie loved it (of course!), but did not love using the spoon.
So, she used her hands...
Which stayed multi-colored until later that night...
Jack enjoyed the view from his Bumbo...
We woke up bright and early Easter Sunday to see what that silly rabbit had brought us!
(As an aside, the real reason we woke up bright and early is because we have one of those alarm clocks that sets the time on its own, and it reset itself for Daylight Savings. Three weeks later. I was not pleased.)
Check out their loot!
Gracie got to the baskets first.
Their Easter baskets hold lots of sentimental value because they belonged to me and my brother (thanks Uncle JJ) when we were kids. They are Longaberger baskets, and they were limited edition in 1988.
I love that I'm getting to pass such a special traditional item down to my kids!
She didn't walk, she ran!
And, she ran straight to the new golf clubs (or bats, as she likes to call them).
She helped Jack with his basket...
His big item was "real" food :o)
(See previous post for the "after" faces)
After baths, we got the kids dressed up, packed up, and headed out to church with Uncle Kevin and Aunt Angel. Later, we enjoyed a scrumptious lunch prepared by Mimi and Nana at the lake.
Last week I posted the best pictures (yes, for real, the best ones) we managed to snap after church.
Here are some more Gracie Lou outtakes.
When you ask her to smile, she gets this weird vacant expression on her face (as seen in picture two.)
This was the best smile we got all day!
Ha! Ha!
Hope your Easter was as happy as ours!

You need to teach that girl how to SMIZE.
Love it! I saw this past Easter a mom who used whisks to dye eggs! Duh! Why hadn't I ever thought of that?! That would for sure be easier than spoons for little hands to control.
DO NOT let Emory know that Gracie got a zhu zhu (sp??) pet from the Easter Bunny! She keeps seeing those commercials and begging for one...and, well, you know how I feel about pets. Yes, even fake ones! She would be so jealous! Glad the Easter Bunny was so good to those sweet babies. Miss you all and hope to see you soon!
