The Nursery

When I was pregnant with Gracie Lou (exactly 2 years ago, might I add), one of my favorite projects was her nursery. I took great excitement and joy in spending WAY too much time mulling over important decisions like baby bedding, colors, knick knacks, etc. After it was complete, I spent WAY too much time sitting in the glider and just daydreaming. Don't get me wrong, this is exactly what first time moms are supposed to do...that's why I am now having a serious mental breakdown over the current state of this baby's nursery. Did I mention "it" is due in exactly 11 days?
This is the nursery....seriously.
A view from the doorway. White walls, no rug, and ugly blinds on the window.

The changing table that is still FULL of Gracie's shoes, socks, diapers, and other stuff. And, who could forget, the pink chair. Why, oh why did I have to choose pink? I love this glider with all my heart. It is beautiful, but I shouldn't have chosen pink. (Yes, honey, you were actually right...I don't say that often, but it's true in this case). Notice how it's not just the chair that is pink-everything is pink!

The crib. It's still a toddler bed, and it's still covered in pink. There was also a random kid table with G's humidifier on it on one side of the crib and our precious double stroller on the other. I"m still trying to figure out where I'm going to store the stroller when it's not in use.

The closet. It doesn't look like this now because I spent some time cleaning closets a couple weeks ago. Prior to my nesting episode, this closet was full of clothes that belonged to the rest of the family as well as other "stuff" that got shoved in there when we moved.

We have some serious work to do once Baby #2 gets here! I am so, so, so happy that we chose to keep this baby's sex a surprise, but, at the same time, it's so difficult to not feel prepared when we were overprepared the first time around. I have been working on several small projects to help liven the space up a little, but these also can't be finished until we meet the little critter. A little paint, some new curtains, a rug, and some TLC will do the trick.
Stay tuned...it will be fabulous!

Don't worry Kel...it will all come together in the end. If it makes you feel better, I DID have a little bit of stuff done before Watson arrived, and now, almost 6 weeks later, his nursery is still far from complete. Oh well. Life goes on. You'll have more important things to tend to, like TWO kids! Love you!

You're too funny. So, I guess you have a pretty good idea of the ridiculous amount of time I have spent agonizing over every little thing in Megan Lael's nursery! Not to mention the times that Trey and I go in there and just sit in the rocker together and dream of the day when she will be there with us! :) I'm sure you'll make the nursery look great- I know it's got to be so hard to not know how to decorate! Not too much longer! Yay! Please keep me posted. I want to know who delivers you and how it goes!!
