Fripp Island 2009

This past weekend we spent a few days relaxing and enjoying good company at Fripp Island. Our good friends, the Johnsons, own a beautiful home down there, and we all try to make a trip at least once a year. This was Gracie's first "real" vacation down there (last year we went down for Will and Stef's wedding but we were so busy we never made it to the beach!), and she absolutely loved it! We got down there on Thursday evening and came home late last night. I took a ton of pictures, so I'm breaking them into two posts starting at the beginning of our trip.

When we got there Thursday night, we took a ride on the golf cart after dinner in search of deer. Gracie LOVED the golf cart and spent the rest of the weekend grabbing "Uncle" Will's hand and asking him for a "ride." We did find a few deer, and she promptly named them all Elmo.

Friday morning we woke up and took G to the kiddie pool . It had the cutest little water slide shaped like a frog. She thought it was so great, and she spent the entire morning sliding.

At first, she required a little help, but she eventually figured out how to push herself off at the top.

Mommy, Gracie, and "Aunt" Stef.
We were laughing at how Stef clearly wasn't in the Mommy "club" because she wasn't wearing a tankini. Will wanted to know if they handed them out at the hospital. Ha. Ha. I wouldn't be wearing one either if it wasn't for the huge belly!

We took Gracie back to the house for a nap and lunch, and then we headed out to the beach before dinner. She loved running in the surf and letting the waves splash her legs.

Running away from Daddy.

She was not happy that he caught her and brought her back.

Taking a stroll with Mommy :o)
Friday night we cooked spaghetti and everyone else arrived at the house. It was nice to have everyone together, even if it was a short time. We missed Evan and Scott though!

Saturday we woke up and the girls took Gracie to the pool while the boys went to play golf. She was not nearly as happy to be at the pool that morning. She wouldn't let go of your hand and screamed and cried at the top of the slide. She ended up spending most of her time sitting in the chair...

and sleeping!
I think we wore her out completely on Friday. She slept in the shade for two hours!

She was a much happier camper when we got her back to the house, and spent some time "singing" in the hammock.

Playing Jenga with Allyson, Will, and Sarge. Her idea of playing Jenga is knocking down all the blocks after you stack them up. Hours of family fun!

Elizabeth, Allyson, and Chris

Chad kissing "Merv." Yes, that is what they have nicknamed my belly. Nice.

Saturday night we cooked (and ate) 16 pounds of crab legs! I'm pretty sure I ate about 4 pounds on my own. I think I'm good until next year!

Such a cute picture of Stephen and Liz! She might have actually eaten more than I did!
