The First "Real" Haircut

Last Sunday I couldn't take it anymore. Gracie's long hair was starting to look a little shaggy, and I had been seriously considering having it cut. When I went to find out how much it would cost, I was appalled to hear that the salon I went to was going to charge us $16 to cut a one year old's hair. Chad and I decided to take things into our own hands and cut it ourselves. I was seriously nervous because neither of us has much (read: any) experience with cutting hair. Once we got up the nerve, I cut and Chad styled. The finished product was a little shorter than I would have liked (oops), but I absolutely love it!

I am really happy with the finished product. She looks like a real "kid" now with a real hairstyle. I am also proud of my new hobby, inspired by Amy: making hairbows. I made the one in the "after" pictures, and it turned out super-cute! Stay tuned for future bow creations!

Thanks for the bow shout-out. :) Emory wore her Christmas tree bow yesterday for the first time, and wouldn't you know she lost it while we were at the grocery store. I don't know whether or not to be less mad since it was cheap because I made it, or more made since I now have to make another one!?!? Maybe we'll just be indian givers and ask for the one we gave Gracie back! :) haha

she is SOOOO cute. She looks so grown up! That's what my haircut looks like.
Maybe we can get together and you can teach me how to make bows.
