This fall was the first Halloween that Gracie was aware of the fun. She loved picking out her costume, decorating the house, carving her pumpkin, and, of course, trick-or-treating.
First up: The costume.
We combed the internet, catalogs, and the stores for the perfect costume. She made the decision on her own, and Grammy was kind enough to bring it to fruition.
Behold…the cutest cupcake that ever walked the face of the planet:
She truly was absolutely adorable!
In the course of a school year, I have “misplaced” the pictures I had of us carving the pumpkin. The kids both loved the mess, and we even toasted our own seeds. Yum!
Next: Trick-or-treating
Each year, NGU opens its dorms for the community to come trick-or-treat. This year was our first time to go (last year I was VERY pregnant), and it was SO much fun! We set off with our neighbors, the Jennings family, and visited several of the dorms.
Here we have Gracie and her sweet friend Hattie AKA Rapunzel…
Jackie dressed up like a chicken …
The students were so generous. They purchase their own candy (GOOD candy too) and decorate the halls. This year the theme was a trip around the world. Each dorm was a different continent. Not only did they pass out candy, but they also set up little games and even made authentic treats from their countries.
I love the pure joy in this picture…
Here is the whole crew (minus Jack, who, at this point, was sleeping in his stroller).
Abe Lincoln (Silas), Johnny Appleseed (Luke), Rapunzel (Hattie), another chicken (Millie), and our cupcake cutie…
Life is always fun with great neighbors like ours…
Haha!
Happy Halloween!
